Thanks for getting in touch, and good work on taking on China! What helped me while we were travelling in Asian countries with weird food and more deep-frying than I&#039;d ever had, was to try and create some sense of order to my meals. For breakfast, we bought yoghurt and oats and made Bircher&#039;s Muesli (chopped up apples, raw oats, lemon and yoghurt left in the fridge overnight to soften) - very stable for blood sugar if the yoghurt isn&#039;t too sweet).
For lunch we tried to find bread, but that wasn&#039;t always possible, so we ate a simple rice and veg meal. If you&#039;re living there, though, do you have access to an oven? If so, I have a simple wholewheat bread recipe that you could make. 
And then for supper we tried to eat at a normal hour and something that vaguely resembled dinner food. It might not be particularly adventurous, but I think it&#039;s important to ease your body into the shock of a new culture, and try to find an approximation of recognisable food.
