Bridget is a South African writer and editor, and a Type 1 diabetic.
Her new book, The Grief Handbook, was published in the UK, USA and South Africa by Watkins Publishing (find out more at www.bridgetmcnulty.com). Her first novel, Strange Nervous Laughter, was published in South Africa in 2007 and in the USA in 2009.
Bridget is the co-founder of Sweet Life (www.sweetlife.org.za), South Africa's largest online diabetes community, and online novel-writing course Now Novel (www.nownovel.com).
She was diagnosed with diabetes in 2007 (at the age of 25) and has been actively involved in diabetes awareness in South Africa ever since - working to show that just because you have diabetes, doesn't mean you should be held back from anything in life - particularly travel! She spent six months travelling around South-East Asia and South America on a JUST THE PLANET Travelling with Diabetes journey to prove just that.
Bridget is a passionate writer intent on living the truth that people with diabetes can do anything they want to.
